The OPM Fair will be a whole day event on Nov. 24, and will be held at the South Road Properties Open Field, Cebu City.
One of the highlights of the event is the recently-launched “My OPM Playlist Exhibit,” which is a thematic exhibition of 365 songs from the playlists of 36 influential Filipinos.
Cayabyab is just one of the selected 36 personalities who will be sharing their OPM playlist. Currently, only three OPM playlists are featured at the Mandarin Plaza Hotel until Nov.22 and these are by Cayabyab, respected songwriter Noel Cabangon and celebrity Daniel Padilla.
“We want to be able to inspire people to create their own OPM playlist,” said Cabangon.
The full revelation of the entire 36 OPM Playlists will be done on the grand fair this Nov. 24. Local names include the playlists of Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama, Me’Anne Solomon and Dulce. Other events during the fair include: INDIEmand, a battle of the bands competition; Rockaoke Sessions; Fliptop Cup; OPM hour; and the finale concert featuring Ogie Alcasid, Noel Cabangon, Jessa Zaragosa, A2Z, Urbandub, Cuarenta, Pain In The Neck, Dymphna, Deanery, Drop Decay and a whole lot more.
The Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-Cebu City will be the first stop of this fair, with plans for it to be held in different key cities in the country right after. “OPM is not only the songs written by composers in Manila, but also from other places like Cebu, Davao,” said Cabangon, in response to the fair as a national initiative.aawit, this year led by Ogle Alcasid, “has numerous projects. But this [OPM Fair] is very significant because it aims to put Pilipino music in the consciousness of all Pinoys,” shared Cayabyab.
